The end of World War II caused great tension between the USSR and America. This tension lasted for most of the latter half of the twentieth century. These tensions almost brought two of the worlds greatest powers into nuclear war. One of the most know conflicts, the Cuban Missile Crisis, was peacefully resolved by John Frederick Kennedy. Many people believe that neither group is to blame for the Cold War. The Cold War caused lots of hysteria in the states. Hundreds of people lost their jobs, were investigated and some even prosecuted. "Loyalty Oaths" became common practice in many government positions. "Loyalty Oaths" were very much like honesty oaths at a court. The name, "Cold War" was first stated in a 1945 essay by George Orwell, called "You and The Atomic Bomb." In 1950, a National Security Council Report called NSC-68 stated that the country should use military force to stop communist spread. This led to an increase in defense spending money. American officials especially liked atomic weapons like the ones that ended World War II. This led to mass production of atomic weapons used in the Cuban Missile Crisis.

"Ho Chi Minh first emerged as an outspoken voice for Vietnamese independence while living as a young man in France during World War I. Inspired by the Bolshevik Revolution, he joined the Communist Party and traveled to the Soviet Union." http://www.history.com/topics/vietnam-war/ho-chi-minh
He assisted the communist party in 1930 and served for the next 25 years. He was known as a Vietnamese symbol for struggle and fought the anti-communists in South Vietnam, along with the Untitled States. He was a major influence of communism. He was one of the most influential communist leaders in the world. He held lots of power and was highly respected/feared. He provided the Soviet Union with supplies and soldiers. This also helped the Soviets build up their nuclear weapons. The Soviet Union put nukes in Cuba because Fidel Castro wanted to protect Cuba from any more invasions like the Bay of Pigs operation. The Soviets agreed because it got them in range of many of America's major cities and many other countries.
